These pics were taken March 12, 1998, just one week after I brought 'er 'ome. That's a shot of her decal in the
middle--excellent condition on both sides. Came with loader and tandem (Ferguson)
discs.

 | Engine
Four cylinder, four cycle, 144 cubic inch, diesel. Rated at 38 horsepower
originally, which some say is equivalent to somewhat more by modern rating methods.
|
 | Place of manufacture
Apparently made in Britain (hence the B in the B-275)
|
 | Date of manufacture |
Serial number is 15699, which one source indicates may mean on or after 1963 (?)
|
 | Hydraulic systems |
Three point hitch, and factory installed loader with single acting cylinders, and
manual release on bucket.
|
 | Condition |
Very good. Starts right up, runs good, sounds good, does not appear to have been
thrashed or seriously worked. Hydraulics are reasonably strong, and hold position
very well. Engine seems strong and exhaust is clear except on starting, and then a
wee bit when reving up or down, which is apparently quite normal for a diesel. Rear
rubber excellent. Doesn't leak or burn oil to speak of.
|
 | Minor Problems that will need attention at some point Biggest
problem is slop in the steering--seems to be down in the steering box. Smaller
issues are: Isolator valve for loader bypasses a little, some hydraulic fluid leaks
at pump seal, and a small weep somewhere around resevoir. Some rust blistering
and scratches, but tin very sound generally. |

Manuals and other sources of info
The Jen's manuals (from yesterday's tractors site) are very helpful with good
drawings and are specific to your tractor. On the other hand the ITC manual covers
the whole B-series group (B-275, B-414 etc etc) and is good for giving you the comparsion
between different models, ie how they are same and how they're different. Both are
very good investments.
If you have any parts or manuals for sale, have any tips or sources, please post
it to the yahoo discussion
group. This is a replacement for the discussion which previously took place on
this site. Although a recent change there (March 2002) now has more ads,
at this point there doesn't seem to be any spamming of your email address or
other invasions of privacy.

Advise you NOT send me email with questions about these tractors, I don't
really know that much about them. Better to post to the discussion
group instead where you might actually find an expert!
