Your 9 day work journey starts here. We’re here to help you hit the ground running – from building your CV and prepping for interviews to figuring out where to look for work, getting your IRD sorted and heading north to explore the Bay of Islands.

What’s On Offer
Day One – Sunday
Kia ora! Forget about the hassle of taxis or public transport—an airport shuttle will drop you right at the door of LyLo, where you’ll feel right at home in your very own private pod. The adventure kicks off on Monday, so take it easy on Sunday—catch up on sleep, or hit up the group chat to see who’s already in town.
Day Two – Monday
Get ready for an epic kick-off with our awesome LyLo crew in Auckland! We’ll have you sorted in the morning with everything you need to dive into your working holiday—setting up your IRD (tax) number, SIM card, and Kiwi bank account. The PM’s free, then, we’ll wrap up with drinks at LyLo, where the fun really begins!
Day Three – Tuesday
If you wish, start the day by joining our yoga session – it’s free for all LyLo guests and it’s a great way to start the day.
In today’s job workshop, we’ll work some magic on your CV to get it NZ-ready, chat about the job scene, and dive into some accom deets and spill the tea on the do’s and don’ts of renting in NZ. Later, we’re hopping on the ferry to Devonport where we’ll wrap up with a group dinner at a local spot.
Head back to Miss Lucy’s at LyLo in time to join the fun at karaoke – the mic’ can be yours!
Day Four – Wednesday
The morning’s yours to own! Consider joining us on the morning run to Westhaven Marina at 8.30am, then check the delicious brunch options in Miss Lucy’s while getting set to soak up some sights.
The rest of the day is all about locking in your work and travel plans with a little help from us in one-on-one sessions where we help make your adventure even more epic!
Tonight is Quiz night at Miss Lucy’s – join a team or bring your new mates for a little trivia madness.
Day Five – Thursday
Your morning’s wide open for adventure! Start by snagging some brunch at Commercial Bay, then make your way to the Wynyard Quarter for a little exploring. After that, it’s all about wrapping up your work and travel plans. Our team’s ready to offer any extra tips or support you need — whether it’s for your job or your journey ahead!
Day Six – Friday
Today, we wave goodbye to the awesome LyLo crew and roll the green carpet for our legendary sidekicks, Kiwi Experience. We’re headed three hours north of Auckland to the Bay of Islands. After a pitstop at the stunning Whangarei Falls, we’ll cruise into Paihia around lunchtime. The afternoon’s all yours—time to hit the beaches, wander the nature trails, or visit Waitangi, where history comes alive!
Day Seven – Saturday
Today’s your day to unleash your inner explorer in the gorgeous Bay of Islands! There’s a whole bunch of free stuff to do—epic hiking trails, lush bush walks, and even Project Island— a wildlife sanctuary where the critters are living their best life. Your Kiwi Experience driver will be your personal adventure buddy, dishing out the inside scoop on al the must-see spots.
Day Eight – Sunday
Today, we’re venturing further north to Kerikeri, where we kickstart the day with a hike and waterfall hunt, then a pitstop at the Old Packhouse Farmers’ Market, where you’ll find fresh produce, coffee, and the perfect lunch to fuel up. We head back to Auckland and sadly, our week together comes to an end (cue the dramatic music). But don’t worry, it’s not goodbye! You’ll stil have the Work Stay Play @ LyLo team at your side. So, check back into LyLo for one last night of rest before the next chapter!
Day Nine – Monday
Check out of LyLo by 11am and dive into the next chapter of your adventure in NZ. Need a little extra advice? You know where to find us.
